Stephanie Rauterkus has launched a new personal finance blog - a kind of lap bar to keep families on the rails through dips and curves of the roller-coaster economy. The blog, 365 Days on a Budget, was started July 5, 2010. Every day, the professor, wife and mother of two updates readers on her struggles and successes as she attempts to balance both budget and life. It is described as a chronicle of the daily challenges and triumphs of a "regular" family as it works to achieve its financial goals by keeping a watchful eye on spending. Visitors from all over the world have clicked on to the blog, and her audience grows daily. Join Dr. Rauterkus on her journey at http://www.365daysonabudget.com/ .

Dr. Rauterkus is an assistant professor of finance at UAB School of Business has a research focus in specific innovations aimed at making housing more affordable for moderate and low income families as well as other personal finance areas.  She has been published in Financial Management and The Journal of Economics and Finance Education among other scholarly publications.  Dr. Rauterkus has received grants to fund her housing and mortgage research from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Smith Barney and others.
